Hawaii Supports Therapeutic Psilocybin; Your Guide to Safe & Effective Psychedelic Consumption; And Celebrities to Speak at 'Psychedelic Science' Conference in Colorado This June.
Hawaii Joins the (Long) List of States to Advocate for Therapeutic Psilocybin Use
"A bill to create a state working group to study the therapeutic benefits of psilocybin is advancing in the Hawaii Senate with the support of the governor’s office. If enacted, the legislation would direct a new therapeutic psilocybin working group to examine the 'medicinal and therapeutic effects of psilocybin to treat conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and end-of-life psychological distress.'"

Psychedelics in Therapy Show Promise, But General Consumption Must Be Taken With Guidance, Mindfulness & Care
Psilocybin & ketamine have seen widespread application in therapeutic settings in recent years for the treatment of various mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
This is in response to the growing interest in the potential of these psychoactive substances as effective alternatives to traditional treatment, which has subsequently led to the establishment of approved psilocybin trials & retreats, as well as ketamine clinics.
However, it is important to note that not all sources of psychedelics are trustworthy. When it comes to ingestion, we must consider our sources, because unscrupulous dealers may sell counterfeit or contaminated products that could be harmful to our health.
According to this New York Times article, "While ketamine & psilocybin are largely considered safe – [with] an extremely low chance of overdose & little likelihood of addiction; [considered] as some of the least harmful recreational drugs [on the market] – [we need to be] mindful of the risks."
Taken in an improper setting or dosage, purchased from questionable dealers (where quality and origin is unknown), used in the absence of professional guidance, or consumed without a thorough understanding of one's own medical history/profile, are all factors that – on their own, but especially added together – can make the consumption of psychedelics a dangerous affair.
"[It is for this reason that] psilocybin trials & ketamine clinics have [been set up with] strict exclusion criteria to protect people who have physical or psychological vulnerabilities."
Experts in psychedelics recommend taking psilocybin or ketamine in a controlled setting, such as a retreat or clinic where the substances are obtained from reputable sources and administered by qualified professionals. This not only helps ensure the safety, efficacy & quality of the product, but also provides a supportive and secure environment for the experience.
When considering the use of psychedelics for therapeutic purposes, it is vital that you do your own research and make informed decisions. Trustworthy sources (such as clinical retreats and clinics) can offer a safe and supportive environment for therapeutic experiences, while avoiding the potential risks associated with untrustworthy individuals & entities.

1. Psychedelics May Be Part of U.S. Medicine Sooner Than You Think
“The FDA has [already] granted “breakthrough therapy” status to MDMA and psilocybin. That designation recognizes a drug’s therapeutic potential and is meant to streamline the road from research to approval. Australia [recently became] the first country in the world to formally recognize the therapeutic use of psychedelics. Regulators in other countries have made similar decisions. Some U.S. states have embraced the use of psychedelics, too, [meaning America could] be headed toward a similar outcome, some experts say.” - time.com
2. “The Last of Us” Apocalypse Is Not Realistic, But Rising Temperatures & Antibiotic Use Raise Other Concerns
“Ophiocordyceps Unilateralis, is indeed a real fungus that parasitizes the brains of insects like ants or spiders, [but] while mind-controlling fungal infections make for great television, the likelihood of fungus or mold causing problems through ingestion is [extremely] low [as is the risk of it spreading person-to-person]. [Although] an uncontrollable, fungus-driven pandemic is highly improbable, fungi can be a real and concerning danger to humans, and their risk is on the rise. Very few fungi or mold spread [from one person to another], so a fungal pandemic is not too likely, but with factors like climate change [and] the increasing use of antibiotics, we may see increasing fungal threats ([such as] a relatively new fungus called Candida Auris). For healthy people, [this] is not a cause for concern. However, in those who are immunocompromised, it can be deadly. The show might not be realistic, but pathogens like Candida Auris are likely going to get more press now [because of it], which can only help infectious disease specialists with their research & the development of anti-fungal medication.” - Yale School of Medicine
3. Psychedelics As A Weapon Against Anxiety And Trauma
“Psychedelics such as psilocybin and [even] LSD help activate the serotonin receptors in the brain. This then reduces the energy required to move from one state to another, making it easy for patients to shift between different mindsets. It also helps change the brain’s behavior and improves mood. Psychedelic use [can produce] significant recovery in [patients] by reducing stress and depressive episodes. Increased exposure also [assists in easing] mental discomfort, providing remarkable benefits for [sufferers of anxiety & trauma].” - psychedelicspotlight.com
4. DMT for Depression? Clinical Trial Finds Hallucinogen Significantly Reduces Symptoms
“U.K.-based biotech company Small Pharma [recently conducted] the first major study of DMT and its potential for treating major depressive disorder (MDD), finding a ‘significant and clinically relevant reduction in depression symptoms’ two weeks after dosing, compared to the placebo group.” - hightimes.com
5. Psychedelics Are Fueling a Mental Health Revolution
“Once deemed dangerous and illegal, psychedelic compounds have been rediscovered by the scientific, medical, and psychiatric communities as research reveals their capacity to help patients with a range of maladies. With investors beginning to flood this new market with capital, will Big Pharma join in, or try to squash a nascent revolution of the mind?” - Bloomberg
